Bio
Katherine is a committed and passionate pianist, accompanist and piano teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching private classes and in Public Music Schools. Brought up in a musical family in Poland – the native country of Frédéric Chopin, one of the greatest piano composers in the history of music, Katherine has been classically trained since she was 3 years old with a true understanding of Chopin’s melody and expression, as well as of other composers.
During her education she actively participated in many piano courses and workshops, as well as pedagogical conferences. Katherine performed various solo recitals, chamber music concerts and piano concertos with orchestra. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.

As for my teaching style, I am passionate about piano music, full of positive energy and highly communicative with a proven ability to get the very best out of young musicians. Focused on creative and effective lessons, as well as on the individual approach to each student. I am patient, inspiring and motivating to ensure pupils that playing the piano is not only an additional skill but also it develops musical imagination, personality and has a very positive effect on learning different disciplines.
With a natural approach to teaching young children I am able to keep their interest and attention throughout the whole lesson in a pleasant atmosphere. Teaching classical, pop and film music, as well as the basic elements of music theory and history, I strive to inspire students by demonstrating piano pieces. I prepare students for school examinations and pianocompetitions and select music resources, teaching materials and piano pieces appropriately to encourage and support students in their musical careers.
I currently offer private piano lessons for students at all age who want to develop their musical skills or just wish to start learning the piano :)
Lessons can be arranged at my home studio in Kingsland, Auckland.
