Bio

Robert is a regular player on the Wellington music scene, and has often toured the country with a variety of acts, developing his expertise in live performance.

Studying Jazz performance at the NZSM he is well versed in Jazz styles, and consequently other genres, as well as reading, and writing music.

Robert has a wealth of experience in teaching, and is a qualified, practicing, Primary school classroom teacher at a local school.

Robert will help you simply enjoy playing music and overcome any negative feelings you may have about it!

Depending on your own experience as a musician, Robert can start with the basics of how the bass or guitar works, technique, and its role as an instrument in different genres. He will help you, as a student, wield this knowledge into your playing, regardless of instrument.

Robert will encourage growth in any area of playing that you choose to go in. He will provide the resources and guidance for you to go in this direction, and above all else, have some fun along the way!
