Bio
Hi, I’m Letitia, a private singing teacher, vocal technique instructor, and vocal coach based in Whataupoko, Gisborne.
For over 17 years, I’ve helped singers of all ages and experience levels develop healthy, confident, and reliable voices.
I work with older children (12+), teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners discovering their voice for the first time to experienced performers looking to refine their technique and expand their vocal capabilities.
At the heart of my teaching is a simple belief: every voice is unique. No two voices function exactly the same way, which is why I take an individualised approach to every student.
My role is to listen carefully, understand what is happening in the voice, and provide practical guidance that supports each student’s goals, learning style, and stage of development.
My teaching is grounded in scientifically informed vocal pedagogy, combining contemporary voice science with established classical principles. Drawing on training in both classical (Bel Canto) and contemporary methodologies such as Estill Voice Training, I help students develop voices that are healthy, efficient, expressive, and sustainable.
While I have a strong technical foundation, lessons are always practical, supportive, and focused on real-world results.
Most students come to singing lessons because they want their voice to feel easier, work more efficiently, become more reliable, and allow them to express themselves with greater confidence.
Whether you are building foundational skills, overcoming vocal challenges, preparing for performances, or simply wanting to understand your voice better, my goal is to help you make steady, measurable progress while developing a deeper connection with your instrument.
For younger singers, I place particular importance on creating positive early experiences with music. The confidence, healthy habits, and technical foundations developed during these formative years can shape a singer’s relationship with their voice for years to come.
Lessons take place in my fully equipped private home studio in Whataupoko, a calm and welcoming environment where students can feel comfortable exploring, developing, and strengthening their voice. I believe people learn and sing best when they feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely heard.
Originally from South Africa, I relocated to New Zealand in 2011. My own musical journey spans more than four decades and includes choir leadership, professional performances, recording projects, songwriting, music production, composition, audio engineering, voice-over work, and the release of an original contemporary album.
What I enjoy most is helping students discover what their voice is truly capable of. Watching someone grow in confidence, skill, and self-expression over time is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that journey.

Letitia is nothing short of amazing. I started seeing Letitia to make the transition from classical singing to contemporary, and she has been a wealth of knowledge and support as I make this leap. What I like about Letitia‘s program is that it doesn’t take shortcuts and ensures singers are taking the healthiest route to achieve their goals with sustainable long-term results. I would recommend Letitia‘s services to anyone who is wanting to get into singing and wants to start their journey the right way, or to an experienced singer who wants to learn advanced techniques and how to get more out of their existing skill set.

Letitia Lindeque Vocal Coach, not only is she a beautiful person, she also has a very beautiful soul. Tayne has been with Letitia just over a year and she has done so much for him. Her style of coaching is very professional, her approach to the person learning is very patient, kind and caring and she can cater for both genders, which is marvelous. She is honest and we just love her, Tayne will not miss a day of coaching with Letitia, and has not. So take mine and Tayne's word, she is the most experienced vocal/singing coach I have come across, she knows her work, and if you persevere with her way of teaching, you will never look back. Thank you Letitia, we appreciate all that you have done, hope you can put up with us for many more years.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I have learnt so much, not only about my voice, but also Spiritually. I have enjoyed every moment, every yawn and every stupid time when I thought the note was higher than it really was! You have taught me to relax and to believe in myself. I know now, that I can sing anything I want to, if I just practice! I will never forget your investment in my life.

Thank you very much, you are an amazing teacher. I never would have believed that I would be able to get to even half my singing ability that I am at today! I feel a lot more confident with my music and you gave me skills that I'll treasure for life.
