Lauren and I discussed charging GST (declaring GST) for YouTube or overseas income. This income contributes to your total income so when you think you will hit $60,000/yr total income you need to register for GST – however that overseas income in zero-rated:

Services supplied to non-residents outside New Zealand at the time the service is performed
For example, a lawyer resident in New Zealand gives legal advice to a person living in Australia.
