Bio
Olly’s Guitar and Music Lessons
I’m an experienced guitar teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, working across music schools as well as primary and secondary schools. I began learning music as a child myself and was taught by some of New Zealand’s finest musicians, including Steve Gerrish, Neil Watson, Jeremy Toy, and Kingsley Melhuish. I hold a Bachelor of Popular Music (BMus) and bring real-world industry experience into every lesson.
My background includes performing with artists such as Jamie McDell and Reece Mastin (The X Factor), as well as songwriting and production work with Sony NZ and BigPop. My original music has been played on radio and television throughout New Zealand.
Lessons are fun, supportive, and tailored to each student. I believe a positive relationship between teacher and student is the key to confidence, enjoyment, and long-term progress. There are three ways to have lessons at my teaching venue, online or at your place, the prices vary depending on the context.
