Bio
Dorayme Music Tuition Studio is a Christchurch-based music education network established in 1992, offering a unique and structured learning system delivered through several home studios across the city. Guided by the Dorayme Education System, students follow a clear and organised pathway that integrates piano performance, music theory, and musicianship development from beginner to diploma level. Beyond simply training pianists, Dorayme focuses on nurturing well-rounded musicians by combining individual lessons with theory learning, performance opportunities, music camps, and collaborative activities that build confidence, discipline, and creativity. With a team of dedicated tutors who share a common teaching philosophy and structured lesson plans, Dorayme provides a supportive community where students grow not only in musical ability but also in life skills such as organisation, motivation, and teamwork.

Teaching Info
At Dorayme Music Tuition, students can expect structured, purposeful lessons designed to develop them into well-rounded musicians. Each lesson follows the Dorayme Education System and is guided by our Annual Learning Music Planner, which provides a clear roadmap of learning goals throughout the year. Lessons cover more than repertoire preparation; they are carefully balanced to build a strong musical foundation. Students work on repertoire pieces, scales and arpeggios, studies (etudes) to strengthen technical skills, and sight reading, which is an essential component of every lesson. Sight reading is emphasised because it develops musical fluency, confidence, and the ability to learn new music efficiently. Through this structured approach, students gradually build solid technique, musical understanding, and disciplined practice habits. Our teaching style is systematic yet nurturing, ensuring that students are challenged appropriately while enjoying a supportive learning environment that encourages steady progress and long-term musical growth.
