Bio
I’m a self-managed artist and festival director with a background in performing, producing artists, and promoting my own music and other events.
I started out in bands putting on DIY shows as a teenager. Since, I’ve studied at Ara Jazz School, I’ve released records as a solo artist and with other bands, worked on soundtracks, produced tours locally and internationally, and performed at festivals across Australasia.
What excites me most about music is the pursuit of our own unique creative voice, discovering what resonates for us in music and art, trying to understand the mechanics behind that resonance, and learning how to shape those elements into something of our own. My teaching is grounded in that process, helping students explore their interests, refining their toolkit, and developing a unique personal voice. The path can take many different forms, but that’s what makes it such a fulfilling journey.
Teaching Info
When you start sessions with me, we’ll start by talking about the instruments you play, the sounds that inspire you, and what you’re curious and excited about in music. You don’t need to have definitive answers — we can figure these things out together. From there, we’ll set some simple, achievable goals based on what you’d like to get out of the process. That might mean learning how to write for a band, figuring out how to record simple arrangements at home, or something else entirely.
Maybe you also want to build skills on electric or bass guitar, learn more about improvisation or music theory, synthesis or production software — we can break down all your interests and needs and shape a lesson plan that works for you.
The aim is always to create something that feels personal, focused, and moreish — something that gets you excited to keep going, to keep making, and to find joy in building your own unique style of expression.
