Bio

Bridget Costello is best known globally for playing Christine Daaé in Phantom of the Opera, performing in the original West End production, Sydney Opera House, Arts Centre Melbourne, Riyadh Arena and most recently a European Tour.

Bridget holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in London, as well as a Bachelor of Music and PGDip Music from New Zealand School of Music in Wellington. She holds Estill Voice International Levels One and Two under the tutelage of Paul Farrington.

Her professional credits include the lead roles of Eva in Driftwood the Musical (Sydney / Melbourne Tour), Princess Ida in Princess Ida (Finborough Theatre), Princess Beautiful in The Tinderbox (Charing Cross Theatre) and featured soloist in Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk, UK. She has also performed with the New Zealand Opera Chorus in The Bartered Bride and Madame Butterfly. Bridget is a two-time 2024 Green Room Award nominee for her work in The Phantom of the Opera and Driftwood the Musical.

Bridget has been a soloist with Auckland Philharmonia, The Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band, The Australian National Boys Choir, and in concert with Bernard Walz at the Sydney Town Hall.

She has also performed in ceremonial events, including singing the anthem at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Hyde Park Corner in London, in the presence of royalty and senior dignitaries, representing the New Zealand Defence Force and the New Zealand High Commission.

An experienced teacher who works with students of all ages and abilities, from young children taking their first steps in music to experienced singers looking to refine their technique and artistry.


Teaching Info

At the heart of my teaching is the relationship between student and teacher. I value and create a warm and supportive environment where students can express themselves freely, grow in confidence, and develop sound technique. I love sharing my extensive performance and teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities. It is a joy to help people find their voice and feel empowered and creative. I have taught in stage schools, specialist singing schools and private studios across London, Melbourne and Auckland, helping students achieve their individual goals.
