Music teacher in Hamilton | Drums & percussion, guitar, ukulele, piano
Hi, I’m Cauan, a Brazilian-New Zealand music educator, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with over 20 years of experience in music and performance.
I currently teach in primary and intermediate schools across Hamilton and the Waikato region, and I also provide private music lessons for children, teenagers, and adults. My lessons focus on drums and percussion, guitar, ukulele, beginner piano, and foundational musicianship.
Alongside teaching, I have worked as a composer, sideman musician, producer, and sound designer for artists, films, and creative projects. This real-world experience allows me to bring a broader understanding of music into every lesson.

- Guitar lessons (beginner to intermediate)

Teaching Info
I believe music should be creative, engaging, and enjoyable. Every student learns differently, so I adapt each lesson to their age, goals, and interests. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a child starting their first instrument, or an adult returning to music after many years, I’ll help you build confidence and develop practical musical skills.
My teaching approach combines structure with creativity. Students learn rhythm, listening, technique, and musical expression through songs, games, improvisation, and hands-on music-making. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
Parents often tell me that their children feel motivated and excited to practise because lessons are fun, encouraging, and tailored to them. My goal is not only to teach an instrument, but to help students develop creativity, confidence, and a lifelong connection with music.
