Bio
Hi! I’m Kiara, a classical composer based in West Auckland. I am deeply passionate about music especially the creative process of composing.
I offer both online and in-person lessons for all-leveled students. Whether you are completely new to composing or more advanced composers who are looking to refine your piece even further, lessons will be tailored to your individual goal and experience.
I hold a Master’s degree in Composition from the New England Conservatory in Boston, as well as a Bachelor’s degree + Honors degree from the University of Auckland.

Lesson duration: 1-2 hours
What you should expect: Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, interests and goals. We may work on building technical skills: harmony, structure, orchestration, composition studies, instrumentation, theory, score analysis and musical creativity, developing an individual voice, active listening and expanding ideas.
For beginners: We will build a strong foundation in composition and theory while exploring the creative process. You will learn how to come up with ideas, what to do when you feel stuck, and how to structure and develop a piece etc. this will help you build confidence in writing your own music in the future.
For advanced composers: I will provide detailed feedback and guidance tailored to your work and composition style. We can work on your composition in progress, refining ideas, musical expressions, providing exercises to help you strengthen your skills and work towards a goal.
