Bio
Cam is a bass player who has been playing for over 8 years. He currently plays in multiple local bands around Christchurch and has had experience in playing almost every genre. He also has his own solo bass-centred musical project named Lakeward. Cam is a recent graduate from the University of Canterbury, where he completed a Conjoint Bachelor of Arts and Commerce, majoring in Music and Finance. The music portion of his degree mainly consisted of performance and composition, two key areas of interest for him. Alongside these areas, Cam is also involved in recording, mixing, and mastering, which is evident in Lakeward’s music.
In addition to local bands, Cam has performed in cover bands at professional events such as weddings and functions around Christchurch. He recently gained festival experience at Mackenzie Summer Sounds. He has had some great experiences with tutoring and aims to continue to grow as a musical educator. Cam is hugely passionate about music and hopes to share this passion with his students, while also helping them along their musical journey.

Each student has their lessons personally catered to them, depending on their level of playing experience and musical ambitions. Whether a beginner looking to nail the fundamentals or an experienced player looking to hone their craft, Cam aims to tailor his lessons to suit. Cam is particularly experienced with rock and metal music, and so would be a perfect fit for anyone wanting to dive into these genres.
Alongside performance tutoring, Cam has extensive theory knowledge and solid recording experience to help those looking to get into making their own music.
