Bio

Cutting his teeth in vocal comps, underground DJ nights, and the family band DJ Tweek, Emile spent his teens and twenties performing most weekends across the Top of the South and around the country. The family group became a local institution — a travelling show that brought live music to every community it touched.

When his father passed in 2012, Emile continued performing as a solo artist, reinventing his sound through looping and live instrumentation and vocal performances. Over time, his artistry evolved into a genre-bending mix of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and rock.

In recent years, his reputation for raw vocal power and crowd connection helped with his exposure nationally which eventuated to being approached by Boomtown to become the singer of their team, touring alongside Big Sima, together they’ve toured the entire country 5 times in 3 years, played Electric Avenue, Northern Bass, Go live festival, and recorded multiple EPs, that showcase the energy of New Zealand’s live scene.

Today, Emile is stepping into a new role — helping others unlock their voice. As a vocal and performance mentor, he draws from his deep experience in live entertainment to guide singers and performers toward confidence, endurance, and authenticity.

Teaching Info

My lessons are designed to help singers of all levels grow in confidence, develop strong vocal habits, and discover their own sound. Each session is tailored to the individual.

What I offer:

• Vocal warm-ups and strengthening exercises
• Expanding range and improving tone control
• Breath support and healthy vocal technique
• Microphone skills for live performance
• Lyric delivery, stagecraft, and connecting with your audience
• Singing harmonies and part-learning for choirs or group singing
• Ear training for beginners
• Intro to home recording: using GarageBand, microphones, MIDI, and music apps (Mac/iPhone/iPad)
• Basic guitar or ukulele for singers
• Songwriting and creative development
• Finding your unique vocal style and artist identity
• One-off audition coaching and self-tape preparation (extra fees may apply)

Add Ons to lessons:

• Discounts for family lessons (up to two)
• Lessons can combine guitar, singing, songwriting and music production
• English pronunciation and vocal clarity for non-native speakers

Pricing:

• $40 for half-hour lessons – online or in ​Blenheim at my home 
• $75 for 1 hour lesson – traveling to your home available
• $20 travel fees – ​outside of Blenheim township
• $40 travel fees – ​Picton, Wairau Valley, Pelorus, Seddon etc.
