Bio
Ingrid Kosaka was selected as a featured soloist for the NZSO Young Soloists Showcase at just 15, performing with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, she was invited as a guest soloist on a national tour with the Baroque Music Community and Education Trust of New Zealand, performing Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos with baroque cellist Tomas Hurnik. She also has orchestral experience through performances with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra with NZ Opera season La Boheme.
Teaching Info
As an active performing musician, I have always carried a strong passion for teaching. In my lessons, I focus on shaping each session around the individual. I take time to work with students patiently, making sure they advance at a pace that feels natural and comfortable for them. Every lesson is designed to be encouraging and adaptable, welcoming different goals and learning styles. My approach involves adjusting materials and methods to fit where each student is on their musical journey—whether they’re just starting out or already working on advanced techniques. Lessons draw on a mix of classical works, folk-inspired tunes, technical practice, and music theory, creating a well-rounded foundation that not only builds skill but also deepens a genuine love for playing the violin.
