Bio
Born 1998, my music journey began in 2007 with learning the drums and later branching out to guitar and piano. This skill set allowed me to perform in multiple orchestras for a decade including the National Youth Orchestra where I studied with the wonderful musicians from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
These events truly shaped my identity as a performer, educator, and musician. As for my drumming, it has its roots planted in several genres, starting with the lively grooves of funk to the heavy sounds of metal; each of them bringing their own unique joy
I have been teaching drums professionally since 2019 and have offered lessons to over 1000 students in the Palmerston North region. This diverse experience equips me with the right set of skills to meet learning styles, needs and goals through effective teaching.
Teaching Info
I offer private one-on-one tuition for the drum kit. All equipment in provided within my studio including audio equipment for practicing with backing tracks.
I tailor our lessons to your goals. Technique, reading drum notation, improvisation, and independence is a large part of our lessons.
My teaching philosophy:
- Establishing meaningful rapport to support individual learning
- Rely on routine and building positive habits
- Music is fun, so lessons should be too!
- Adapting to each students pace and interests
- Encourage confidence
My age together with my experience allows me to relate very well with students. I believe that strong rapport is essential for students to learn and enjoy music. My age makes it easier to relate with students which creates a productive and positive environment for learning.
