Kia ora,
I grew up in Gisborne playing the violin in the Gisborne Youth Orchestra and went on to the capital city where I completed my Master of Music in viola performance in 2014.
From February 2026 I will be back in Gisborne ready to accept new and continuing students at a location t.b.c.
Since graduating, my primary profession has been teaching the violin and viola to both individuals and groups.
I also have some experience teaching Irish 4-string banjo, mandolin, guitar, recorder, and beginner keyboard.
Teaching Info
My method is mostly Classical with a strong side of folk. I generally teach music notation reading at the same pace as the technical skill of the instrument, but occasionally make exceptions for adult students who prefer to learn by ear.
