Teaching Info

Lessons are individually tailored to suit each student’s goals, interests, and level of experience — from complete beginners to more advanced players.

Students are guided through a strong musical foundation, beginning with an understanding of the instrument, simple technical exercises, and easy chord progressions. From there, lessons develop naturally into accompaniment of popular songs, rhythm training, strumming techniques, fingerpicking, and flat-picking styles.

More advanced students can explore lead guitar playing, single-note soloing, improvisation, and scale patterns, while developing confidence, musicality, and personal style.

Porp’s teaching combines practical musicianship with decades of real-world performing experience, creating lessons that are both enjoyable and inspiring.
