Bio
I have completed my Master of Music in Performance Violin under Mark Bennett at UoA. I love playing, performing and teaching violin and I especially enjoy performing with my string quartet, Passione Quartet. We have had invaluable coaching and masterclasses from New Zealand String Quartet, Australian String Quartet and Jupiter Quartet. I also have a wide range of orchestral experience, and play frequently with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra as well as interning with the Auckland Philharmonia in 2024.
I also wrote my Master’s dissertation on playing jazz violin from a classical perspective, and I really enjoy improvising. I have been a part of some cool jazz projects recently including an Algerian/Indian Fusion Project with Olivier Holland from GJAZZ5.
Teaching Info
I teach from my private studio in Auckland CBD. I like to give each student one lesson a week, ideally 1 hour long. I like to have a holistic approach to teaching which includes focus on technique, studies and scales, but also developing and creating a strong sense of musicality and character in the music, as well as performance techniques and ways to deal with nerves. My main goal is for my students to enjoy creating music and to give them the technical skills to achieve this.
I can also follow exam boards and the corresponding syllabus if desired.
