Bio
Hi! I’m Marissa, an experienced vocalist and professional session singer, specialising in pop, rock, and musical theatre. As a practicing musician and producer, my point of difference is real-world experience. Combined with my technical training this enables me to help children and adults alike to discover and harness their own unique sound.
My qualifications include a BA in Musical Theatre from the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art, and Levels one and two in the Estill vocal method. You can find me touring as the synth-pop solo act MxDicey, singing jingles on some of New Zealand’s largest radio stations, fronting the synth-duo No Sunrise, and the 90’s & 2000’s covers band Princely Racket. I was also the previous frontwoman for the hard-rock band Living State, and one of the five core cast in the home-grown “Dominion Road the Musical” at the Playhouse Theatre.

Teaching Info
The basis of my teaching is classical technique such as breath support, vowel shaping, posture and alignment, resonance, and pitch accuracy. Students will learn to identify what phrasing works for each genre, and how to get the “X” factor from every song they sing. I currently teach in various schools and music hubs around Auckland Monday to Friday through Lewis Eady & the Chiron Music Group.
