Bio
I help dedicated students make real progress in their playing, whether preparing for exams, auditions, or performances.
I’m a professional violinist/violist and conductor trained in Europe, and a former Auckland Philharmonia Resident Conductor. Additionally, I perform as a viola player in the Auckland Philharmonia regularly. I bring real-world performance and rehearsal experience into lessons, focusing on clear, efficient improvement.
I work best with students who are serious about developing their skills and understanding music at a deeper level.
Only for the Dedicated
I’m here for those who seek substantial progress, not just musical dabbling. If you’re genuinely committed to improving, I provide structured, focused guidance to help you move forward efficiently.

Teaching Info
Lessons are structured, focused, and tailored to each student’s goals.
Each lesson typically includes:
- Technical work to improve control, sound, and efficiency
- Repertoire study with clear musical direction
- Targeted feedback to address specific weaknesses
- Practical strategies for effective practice between lessons
My approach is direct and results-oriented, designed to help students improve efficiently rather than simply play through material.
Transformative conducting lessons. Vincent helped me understand the symphony. His patient guidance turned me into a confident conductor, to work more efficiently with the school ensembles I work with.
Alex M.
Vincent has a gift for teaching and breaking down topics big and small. His guidance on my music subjects at school, and especially music theory, was crucial to my success.
