I am a 27 year old musician, bass guitarist and teacher. I have over 7 years experience teaching bass guitar to a wide range of students. All ages, all levels. I teach many styles – jazz, pop, rock, folk, country, funk, soul, blues.
I cover theory, reading, improvisation, technical exercises.
I also teach beginner guitar.
I also take bands, teaching ensemble playing.
I have a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Jazz, which I studied at the University of Auckland.
I play in many bands and ensembles, from covers to originals, jazz, funk, rock and folk. Have done several national and international tours, played festivals to small pubs across a wide range of genres.
I like to craft my lessons according to each individual, what music they like and what they are working towards. During lessons I cover technique, scales, rhythm, and then move onto songs and musicianship.
I believe the most important thing is inspiration and a love for music. This is what I strive to nurture in all of my students.
