Beverley Pullon holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Waikato University, and was the first to graduate with this degree. She also attained her FTCL in performance voice. Beverley has had numerous lead roles with varying opera companies in New Zealand and overseas, including 4 world premier roles in operas composed by senior lecturer in voice at Waikato University, David Griffiths. She has performed in operas with the NBR NZ Opera Company, Opera Lovers, Opera du Jour and Opera Waikato. Whilst based in London, she performed several lead roles for the Islington Opera Company. Beverley has been a soloist at numerous concerts, and with choirs throughout the North Island, New Zealand, including: Hamilton Civic Choir, Renaissance singers, Hamilton Chorale, Cantando Choir, Cantamus Choir and the Waikato Dutch Choir.

Beverley has had frequent success at vocal competitions around New Zealand, winning many Aria competitions and vocal scholarships. This includes winning the Waikato Times Aria and being placed third in the NZ Herald Aria twice. She won the University of Waikato Aria competition in 2008, and was runner-up in same competition in 2007. Whilst studying at Waikato, Beverley was the recipient of both a University of Waikato Hillary Scholarship and a University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarship, has twice been awarded the Norah Howell Music Prize for Academic excellence, received the John Mansfield Thompson Music History Prize for best music essay, is a member of the Golden Key Club for high achievers, has been awarded several University of Waikato Blues Awards, and in 2014 received the service blue award.
Beverley is a singing teacher who has ten years teaching experience, with ages 5 – 60. She is equipped to teach all voice types and has significant knowledge of good vocal technique. She works on developing the voice and the person to their full potential as a singer and performer. As well as teaching the songs, she works on technical exercises, breathing techniques, resonating techniques, range development exercises, agility, staccato, tonal development and evenness, performance, building confidence, communication and artistic engagement.
She has sung in many languages, mainly Italian, German, Latin, and English with a small amount of French. She knows much repertoire or songs in these languages and has a huge list of operatic arias with some choral arias and music theatre.
Her most recent teachers were Dame Malvina Major (four years) and David Griffiths (six years). Prior to this teachers include: Audrey Paterson (Hamilton); Patricia Wright (Auckland); Flora Edwards (Wellington); Emily Mair (Wellington); Jennifer Scobie (Sydney, Australia) and many others.
Beverley also teaches music theory and basic piano for singers. Students have the option to participate in singing competitions and singing exams.
