Bio

Hey!
I’m Fraser, the teacher at JamTime! I offer one on one or group music tuition to eager students of all ages and abilities to get your musical abilities off the ground quickly, and in a fun way.
I believe in teaching students what they actually want to learn, over sticking to a strict curriculum of theory that can quickly make music seem like a chore over a passion. Instead, I take the time to tailor my lessons to the individual, and weave key lessons of guitar/bass in a fun and practical way. I can also offer globally recognised qualifications to those who wish to sit exams.
I offer lessons to everyone with a passion to learn. The best bit? I’ll come to you! I can travel to you around the Wellington area, or we can organise a Skype lesson, whatever suits you!
Get in touch and make sure you get a ‘half-step’ ahead with your music!
Have a wonderful day,
Fraser

Teaching Info

I focus my lessons based around what the student wishes to learn. This is developed over time based on the overall goals of the student combined with my guidance in order to keep lessons practical, fun and efficient.

For those wishing to learn a set curriculum, my lessons are based around the Registry of Guitar Tutors qualifications through which I can offer exams to get you an internationally recognised qualification with the London College of Music! Topics include:

  • Scales and Arpeggios
  • Chords
  • Rhythm playing
  • Lead playing (solos and improvisation)
  • Spoken/aural assessments
  • Fingerstyle

Even through the set curriculum lessons, I seek to engage the student more by applying the theory to practical applications so the student sees progress every week.

"Fraser really takes the time to make sure you understand what it is you're doing with all aspects of the guitar. I really get 'why' I'm meant to do certain things in order to get the sound and technique that I want."
