Kia Ora, My name is Loxmyn and I am a saxophonist currently based in central Auckland. I am a graduate of the University of Auckland with a bachelor of music majoring in jazz performance. During my study there I was also lucky enough to be awarded the KBB Jazz woodwind player of the year prize. Since then have also had the privilege of working with acts such as Che-Fu and the Kratez, Benee and Supergroove and have thus gained broad experience in playing a diverse range of music. In regards to teaching I have had experience in primary and intermediate schools as well as with private tuition. I look forward to jamming with you!
Teaching Info
My lessons are tailored to each student individually. I give my students the opportunity to decide what they want to get out of playing the saxophone and guide them to the goals they seek to achieve. At the same time, in lessons I take steps toward developing strong fundamental skills especially for students who are picking up the instrument for the first time. For more advanced students I can provide assistance in the exploration of harmony and improvisation as well as the fostering of creativity and the development of a unique sound/style. I would prefer to travel to you for lessons but if this is not possible I have a rehearsal space that can be made available is necessary.
