I am a local saxophonist who has recently finished studying at the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University). I have completed my degree (2021) Bachelor of Music with Honours- BMus (Hons). I am currently offering private lessons in Wellington. Please get in touch if you are interested in having high-quality private lessons on Saxophone, Flute, or Clarinet.
A bit about myself:
My name is Nicholas, and I am an experienced Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute teacher based in Wellington. In 2021, I completed an Honours degree in Jazz Performance at the New Zealand School of Music. I have been teaching for the past five years privately and at various schools and institutes such as the Upper Hutt Music Academy, Raphael House (Rudolf Steiner school), and Studio Sasada.
I have been playing in the Rodger Fox Big Band for the past two years and have also performed with groups and Orchestras such as Orchestra Wellington, Trans Tasman Big Band, New Zealand Youth Jazz Orchestra, Wellington Ska Orchestra, and Brazza (Brazilian music group). As a result, I gained a wealth of experience and passion for music, specifically improvised music.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching by nurturing the student’s enthusiasm and passion for music, as I believe students learn best when they are engaged and excited about the material.
My teaching is based on creating an enjoyable healthy relationship to music and expression, and I use an individualised approach to accommodate each student’s skillsets and learning requirements.
