Kia Ora e te whānau!
I have been teaching drums for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoy seeing my students succeed. As a professional musician I’ve been fortunate to tour internationally with Strike Percussion, original rock bands and as a solo performer with contemporary dance performances. I have played alongside some great musicians and thoroughly enjoy imparting the knowledge I have gained to inspire students to perform to the best of their abilities.
Teaching Info
I cover all styles and techniques, listening to what students want out of their individual journey.
I advocate for a thorough understanding of the instrument, so include warm-ups, rudiments, technical exercises, reading, improvisation, composition and theory which combine to enable a confident performer.
Techniques I may cover include: Gladstone, Moeller, Applied Moeller (Tap, Up, Full, Down), Finger, Push/Pull.
