He grew up with music, learning piano off Robert Loretz and Stephen Depledge, and learning trumpet from Hamish Arthur and Matthew Verril. He then moved down to Wellington to study at the New Zealand School of Music where he was taught trumpet by Mark Carter and Matt Stein, and piano from Dr. Jian Liu.
Vincent is currently studying towards BMus Hons, while freelancing as an accompanist, teacher and performer.
A lesson must be fun, instructive and inspiring. I aim to provide the student with a well rounded instruction, developing technical skills, aural skills, theory, history and style.
I will help you to achieve your goals, whether it’s getting a piece you like under your hands, learning your way through the beginner level books or working towards a graded exam.
I have experience with Alfred’s Piano Books for Beginners, and working through Trinity for exams. It is important to develop technical skills in order to tackle harder pieces, which will bring hopefully bring more enjoyment to the student as they progress and develop their passion.
I have worked extensively with the Arban’s Complete Conservatory Method Book which works for all levels and ages, Clarke, Colin and Stampe studies. Essential Elements books are good for working through for beginners, then move on to Trinity exams depending on rate of improvement.
