I have a great love for music; I enjoy teaching and sharing that with others.
I offer individual music lessons in singing, piano, and theory; these are freely adapted to suit each student’s needs and goals.
A bit about me…
From a young age I’ve always enjoyed music – starting out as a dancer my love for music grew from there. I began singing at age 10 and complete my grade 8 Singing Trinity College exam by the time I finished secondary school; I also picked up the piano during those years. Growing up in Mid-Canterbury, I took performance and choir opportunities where I could; including being apart of the Mid-Canterbury Summer Singing School and Mid Canterbury Choir. I continue to perform in Mid-Canterbury, often featuring as a soloist for local events.
2019 saw me complete a Bachelors of Music, majoring in classical voice at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington. I performed frequently during my studies at the New Zealand School of Music; including Puccini’s Double Bill as the role of Sister Genovieffa in Suor Angelica.
SINGING LESSONS – PIANO LESSONS – MUSIC THEORY – SKYPE LESSONS AVAILABLE
I offer individual music lessons tailored to suit each student’s needs. Students are welcome to bring their own material to learn, based on their musical interest; however I still guide students in their choices depending on individual needs, abilities and goals.
Lessons are freely adapted for the student based on the cues I receive while teaching. I like to incorporate music theory into each lesson to support the practical elements of the lessons. Although I am classically trained, I am happy to teach a variety of styles.
I strive to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. I aim to help students build confidence and a great passion for their instrument.
