Bio
“I started learning music at age 7 and never looked back. Piano, viola and recorder have all been my main subjects since then. Early on, I have been told that I must pick one instrument. I couldn’t. To this day, I play all of them at the same level and I have picked up a few more. I’m also quite skilled in music theory. I have played in orchestras and ensembles my whole life. Music is my passion and I would like more people to discover it too.”
EXPERIENCE
- Started piano, viola and recorder at age 7.
- Later, proceeded to study lute and violin.
- Studied with Helen Reddecliffe, Serenity Thurlow, Wolfgang Kraemer, Tim Emerson, Jonathan Le Cocq, Sarah McCracken, Valery Maksimov, Anna Maksimova, Anne-Odile Roberts, and others.
- Was committed to the ABRSM exam route up until 2017, upon achievement of grade 6 in piano and viola, when decided to take my own path to study music in more traditional ways.
- Have been the member of orchestras: JSO, ISO, Music Festival Orchestra, NZSSSO, CYO (orchestra achieved Platinum Awards at MEFA in 2023).
- Received “Excellence” in all performance and composition NCEA examinations at Level 3.
Teaching Info
I have had some of the best teachers in New Zealand and music has been the main focus in my life. The variety of my experience has brought me to teaching. I’d like to share my skills with others.
I mostly use classic teaching methods. The students will find my lessons interesting but progressively challenging. All you need to do, is to take them seriously and practise at home!
I firmly believe talent is something we develop over time rather than something we are born with.
I teach at Taylors Mistake and around town.
