Bio
I am a young pianist, composer/arranger and music teacher from the East Coast Bays. I currently hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) in Jazz Piano Performance and an ATCL Diploma of Classical Piano Performance. I am the pianist, composer/arranger and conductor for my own 16-piece Jazz Orchestra and regularly perform as both a soloist and as a member of a variety of ensembles around New Zealand. My skills as a musician have been recognised with a number of scholarships, awards and prizes, including receiving multiple scholarships from the University of Auckland to pursue a BMus (Hons) in Jazz Piano Performance.
Teaching Info
While inspired by the philosophy of Dr Shinichi Suzuki, my unique teaching style also utilises my diverse musical skillset to cover a comprehensive range of repetoire and skills that young musicians require in the 21st Century, including the development of good pianistic technique and tone production, aural training, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation and composition. However, at the heart of my lessons is the belief that hard work and great musical development can – and should always – involve laughter and fun.
