At Curious Keys we aim to provide piano lessons that you’ll actually enjoy, tailored to your individual learning needs and goals. All students receive a free trial lesson to see if we’re right for you and answer any questions you might have.
Our lessons are suitable for students aged 7 years and above (adults too!), and from beginners to early advanced levels. Students are engaged in lessons and take an active role in determining the course of their study. We believe that the most important thing is create a supportive and encouraging environment, so that students gain the confidence and musical experience to independently explore and try out new things.
Teaching Info
We teach a combination of reading music and playing by ear, as well as skills such as improvisation and composition, to enable students another creative way to express themselves and deepen their understanding of music. Students gain an appreciation of many different styles and genres.
For children, we find that play is the most effective way to learn, so our lessons are full of creativity and fun. Adult students often have an idea of what they would like to achieve in lessons so together we explore how best to do that, otherwise we just start from the beginning and go from there!
We also offer piano and theory exams through the Trinity examination board, and can support students with their NCEA assessments.
My daughter has been with Camille doing piano lessons for 7 years. She started when she was 4 years old and absolutely loves the environment. Camille is a natural with children and makes learning music enjoyable.
