Bio
Hi, my name is Tamami. Learning piano from a young age, I enjoyed performing at concerts. After completing degrees in Education in Tokyo and Auckland universities, I became a provisional IRMTNZ member (classical piano and theory) and am working on my diplomas in piano performance and teaching. My passion for playing piano has led me to teach my own children, which then expanded to teaching children of all ages and adults beginners. My goal is to support the students in learning music which then leads to fostering a well-balanced, confident and sensible mind. I hope music can become a lifelong friend.
Teaching Info
I enjoy teaching different age groups. Using lesson books and theory workbooks is vital for children who are just starting to develop the right techniques and musical knowledge. Lesson materials are carefully selected depending on the student’s goal and interests. For young children, parental support for home practice is extremely helpful. I can travel to your home for a lesson if that’s more convenient for you.
