Hailing from Havana Cuba – the music capital of the world – Yunior Maden is a professional percussionist with a decade long career as an internationally touring performing artist, session musician & degree qualified music educator.
Yunior is a bona fide international artist, having been the former contracted conga player for EGREM music award winning orchestra “Leonel Limonta y Azucar Negra” (Havana, Cuba).
Yunior regularly features in music events and festivals and has played alongside international music personalities including Maykel Dinza, Mandy Cantero (Los Van Van),  Charlie Cruz, Boni & Kelly, Telmary & Habanasana, among others.
Additionally, Yunior is a sought after session musician.  He was recently the contracted percussionist on the debut solo album of Grammy winning artist Mireya Ramos, also working alongside top New Zealand artists Troy Kingi, Deva Mahal, Clear Path Ensemble and with record label Tiny Ruin Recordings.

Teaching Info

Yunior specialises in hand percussion and is an expert in Latin, African and Pop Music rhythms. He is available for  private and group lessons (conga, bongo, cajon, timbales, latin & pop drums, minor percussion) in Wellington, Lower Hutt and online.
Classes are suitable for students of all levels and customised according to the students’ interest and objectives
